I’ve always had a weakness for wood - the kind most people would pass over: offcuts, fallen trees, pine cones, and the occasional rescued slab from a skip (with permission, of course).
Behind my shed near Tring in Hertfordshire, stacks of timber sit for years, drying, seasoning, and finding their quirks.
Where Quirkks Begin
Ideas don’t always start on paper. Sometimes it’s the twist of a knot, the bend of a grain, or a crack that begs to be filled with resin.

The shed isn’t polished. It’s cluttered, dusty, and it can get loud.
But it’s where the real work happens - where rough timber is coaxed into shape, balance, and character.

You can’t rush a Quirkk – it grows through each cut, each pour, each sanding, until it’s ready.
